Roadway Engineer : DUTIES:- Perform highway/roadway civil design tasks for current projects, as well as for proposals (get-work tasks). Perform Design Modeling tasks utilizing InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D and/or other similar design software. Create preliminary design concepts and alternatives for highways and civil features to support cost estimating. Attend project technical meetings, contribute innovative ideas to develop the best designs and problem solve proactively to resolve design issues. Execute final design of project elements such as roadway geometrics, roadway alignments, specifications, roadway design plans, signing and marking plans, maintenance of traffic plans, wall plan and profile sheets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience. Also, 6 months or 9 credit hours stated herein to involve roadway engineering including design of roadway geometrics, alignments, and typical sections; preparation of plan and profile sheets; and development of traffic control, signing and pavement marking plans. Any knowledge, experience, internship, or coursework related to roadway design software including MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, or Civil 3D. Must be able to pass FE/EIT (Fundamentals of Engineering/Engineer in Training) examination in U.S. within 18 months.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field and 6 months of experience or 9 graduate credit hours stated herein to involve roadway engineering including design of roadway geometrics, alignments, and typical sections; preparation of plan and profile sheets; and development of traffic control, signing and pavement marking plans. Any knowledge, experience, internship, or coursework related to roadway design software including MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, or Civil 3D.
