Job Description The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing luxury residential and construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking hands-on experience in high-end construction within a collaborative, quality-driven environment. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing multiple residential construction projects simultaneously.
- Support scheduling, budgeting, and procurement processes.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients.
- Help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain project documentation including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Track project progress, costs, and timelines.
- Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and status reports.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of workmanship.
- Assist in resolving field issues and coordinating with site supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Support communication between clients, architects, and internal teams.
- Help maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness and professionalism.
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- 13 years of experience in construction or project coordination (residential experience preferred).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction/project management software is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to high-end custom residential construction.
- Familiarity with budgeting, estimating, and scheduling tools.
- Experience working with architects and design teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Proactive and eager to learn.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westport, CT.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.89 - $60.10/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
