IT Security Project Manager
Summary
We are seeking an IT Security Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple cybersecurity initiatives across the organization. This role will be responsible for managing project delivery, governance, stakeholder communication, risk management, compliance activities, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate is a self-directed project manager with experience leading security-focused programs, driving accountability across teams, and providing clear visibility into project status, risks, and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables for cybersecurity initiatives.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent projects across Identity & Access Management, Security Engineering, Detection & Response, Cloud Security, and related security functions.
- Partner with Business, IT, and Security stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, priorities, and deliverables.
- Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and cross-functional planning sessions.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level status reports, project updates, and communications.
- Maintain RAID logs and proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Support compliance, audit, and governance activities by coordinating evidence collection and project documentation.
- Coordinate Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities and ensure change requests are properly documented and approved.
- Manage third-party vendors, project timelines, and delivery commitments.
- Develop and maintain project dashboards, KPI reporting, and performance metrics.
- Track project progress, forecast timelines, and communicate potential impacts to stakeholders.
- Produce audit-ready documentation and maintain project records throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of IT project management experience with a strong focus on cybersecurity or information security initiatives.
- Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously across technical and business teams.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity disciplines including Identity & Access Management, Cloud Security, Security Operations, Threat Detection, and Incident Response.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, governance, or regulatory programs including SOX.
- Strong risk management, dependency management, and issue resolution skills.
- Experience creating executive presentations, project reports, dashboards, and status communications.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools including Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, and Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
Preferred
- PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification.
- Experience coordinating audit activities and evidence collection efforts.
- Familiarity with change management processes and CAB governance.
