Supplier Quality Engineer needed to manage supplier quality initiatives, audits, PPAP submissions, corrective actions, and vendor performance for metal fabrication and welding suppliers. Job Requirements Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar technical field

3+ years of experience in steel or aluminum fabrication and welding environments

Professional experience as a Quality Engineer

Supplier quality or supply chain quality engineering experience

Knowledge of metal forming, metal assembly, and fabrication operations

Experience applying ISO 9001 and related industry standards

Experience performing supplier audits and manufacturing process evaluations

Experience with root cause analysis

Experience with quality documentation systems

Experience validating PPAP submissions and technical documentation

Proficiency with document and spreadsheet software for performance data analysis

Legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States

Ability to travel internationally to Asia once or twice per year

Preferred Skills SolidWorks or similar CAD software experience

Mandarin language skills

Experience maintaining vendor performance databases

Experience building visual reports for performance reviews

Experience with domestic and international supplier evaluations

Experience training internal teams and external suppliers on quality expectations

Experience supporting logistics-related quality issues, including product labeling and shipping concerns

Experience managing supplier performance metrics, audit data, defect rates, and response time reporting

Job Responsibilities Manage supplier quality initiatives across new product development and active production

Support supplier quality activities for metal fabrication and metal assembly products

Perform audits of external manufacturing systems and processes

Conduct remote and in-person evaluations of domestic and international vendors

Confirm supplier alignment with ISO 9001 and internal quality requirements

Travel internationally to supplier facilities in Asia to support quality improvement activities

Work with external suppliers to resolve quality issues

Apply industrial standards to metal assembly, metal forming, welding, and fabrication processes

Develop supplier improvement strategies

Lead training sessions for internal departments and external suppliers on quality expectations

Maintain digital records of supplier performance metrics and audit data

Serve as the primary quality contact between suppliers and internal engineering, logistics, and operations teams

Validate PPAP submissions before production release

Review technical documentation for compliance with quality requirements

Report supplier quality KPIs, including defect rates and response speed

Develop corrective action strategies based on historical quality trends

Support logistics teams with labeling, shipping, and material intake quality issues

Complete additional supplier quality tasks to support quality initiatives and operational goals
