The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, with a focus on programmable logic devices, PCB design, and system-level integration. Duties Lead the design, development, and validation of advanced hardware systems, including FPGA-based solutions, System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures, and electrical systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define system requirements, develop schematics, and create detailed PCB layouts using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks. Conduct root cause analysis on hardware failures or performance issues utilizing debugging tools like oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, and signal processing techniques. Manage project schedules ensuring timely delivery of hardware milestones while coordinating cross-functional activities involving manufacturing and system integration. Develop firmware and embedded software components using languages such as C++, Python, MATLAB, Perl, or Scripting languages for system control and automation. Perform system-level testing and validation including vision inspection systems, surface mount technology (SMT) assembly processes, and mechanical assessments. Provide technical guidance on manufacturing processes including soldering techniques, surface mount technology (SMT), and adherence to industry standards such as NEC. Support continuous improvement initiatives by implementing innovative solutions in quantum engineering applications or advanced signal processing methodologies. Document designs thoroughly through schematics, technical reports, and CAD models to facilitate manufacturing and future upgrades. Requirements Proven experience in electrical engineering with a strong background in FPGA development, PCB design, system design, and electrical systems integration. Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks for mechanical and electrical schematics. Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM architectures, Arduino platforms, and firmware development. Skilled in debugging hardware issues using tools like oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, vision inspection systems, and signal analyzers. Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling system behavior; experience with SystemVerilog for hardware description language (HDL) design. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and component assembly standards. Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex hardware failures; experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge related to product design using Revit or MicroStation is a plus; familiarity with mechanical engineering principles is desirable. Select and implement power scheme Capture Schematic Work with PCB Layout house Create enterprise server reference systems, using PCIe Gen5 CEM sockets, and EDSFF. Work with customers to assist with their designs, and/or implement their designs. Work with RTL team to understand and implement various features and interfaces. Work with chip package vendor for package design input Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience. Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience. Experience as Lead Signal Integrity Engineer. Strong understanding of EM fundamentals. Modeling and analysis of transmission lines, via structures, high-speed connectors, and complex BGA packages. Proficiency in 2D/3D EM tools such as Sigrity Suite or Ansys EM as well as HSPICE. Familiarity with Real-Time scope, VBA, TDR. Experience with analysis of 25Gbps SERDES. Experience establishing Signal Integrity parameters to guide board routing team. Customer facing experience with strong verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of ADS, QSI/QDC, or Hyperlynx is a plus. Experience setting up, running, and summarizing Power Integrity simulations is a plus. Experience interfacing with characterization team to ensure design calculations can be collaborated with implemented board and package results is a plus.
