About This Role Textron Systems is seeking a Full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on military applications. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance. Responsibilities Participating in the detailed design of structural components. Being a member of a team responsible for the development and design integration of mechanical components and systems Creation of Technical Data Packages that include 3D drawings, specifications and materials lists for component and assemblies of mechanical and electro-mechanical applications. Preparing and directing high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings Transitioning product design to production and test. Writing technical and proposal documents. Creating detailed design reports and presentations to summarize design/analysis results. Qualifications The candidate should be comfortable as a designer of mechanical components and systems subjected to extreme hypersonic flight conditions. The activities include B.S. in Mechanical engineering or related discipline with 2 years of related experience (Level II). B.S. in Mechanical engineering or related discipline with 5 years of related experience (Level III). Comfortable as a designer of mechanical components and systems subjected to extreme hypersonic flight conditions. Packaging design of electronics systems and interconnects, the development of interface control documents, and understanding of designing for manufacturing and assembly techniques. CAD design utilizing 3D digital product development tools and with understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5. Skilled utilization of 3D digital manufacturing information to influence design definition options allowing manufacturable detailed assemblies and material schedules subject to configuration management. Ability to generate product performance specifications, mass property summary reports, and detailed design summary technical reports. Demonstrated Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) skills a plus. Possesses or has ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance \\ This role is open at multiple levels.
