Placer County is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy in the Community Development Resource Agency (Building Services and Engineering & Surveying Division).
This is an exciting leadership position that includes supervision of an engineering team. The position will have direct involvement with multiple County departments and divisions, as well as interfacing with developers, applicants, private engineers, and numerous agencies. The ideal candidate should possess a strong desire and technical engineering skill set to lead other County staff towards the delivery of successful projects along with a high comfort level and aptitude with oral and written communications to foster positive relationships internal and external to the County for the greater good of the communities we serve.
The eligible list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies in the Department of Public Works and Western Placer Waste Management Authority as they arise.
To be included in the first round of application screening, submit your application by Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Following this date, applications will be screened on a bi-weekly basis.
Applicants must possess the following experience and training in order to qualify:
- EXPERIENCE: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering, including two years of supervisory responsibility.
- TRAINING: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
Note: Relevant, equivalent experience (performing the same or similar job requiring similar knowledge, skills, and abilities) may be substituted for the required education as determined by the Human Resources Department.
Applicants receiving their degree outside the United States must submit proof of accreditation by a recognized evaluation agency.
Required License or Certificate:
- Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in an appropriate discipline as issued by the State of California.
- May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
