This temporary position is located at 127 Cardinal Drive, Wilmington - New Hanover County, with the Department of Environmental Quality.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $32.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This position will primarily work in the Express Post Construction State Stormwater Program to perform professional engineering work by reviewing express requests and applications to evaluate projects for compliance and eligibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical assistance is to be provided to the applicants, consultants, regulated community, and general public on projects and inquiries through meetings, phone calls, and written communication.
- Coordination with internal staff, federal, state, local agencies, and diverse stakeholder groups may be required during the application review process.

- Should have an understanding of hydrology, soils, and engineering concepts and calculations.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
