Mission

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Process Tooling Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex vehicle design and physical production by identifying, estimating, and designing the specialized automation and tooling required for world-class vehicle assembly.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be the end-to-end development of assembly solutions, from conceptual layout to final cost mitigation.

  • Tooling Identification: Define the requirements for automation, manipulators, and specialized tooling for critical vehicle subsystems, including:

  • Decking Systems (Powertrain Integration)

  • Windshield & Glass Installation

  • Sunroof / Panoramic Roof modules

  • Instrument Panels (IP) and Front End Modules (FEM)

  • Cost Estimation: Develop comprehensive estimates encompassing time, material costs, and labor requirements for all proposed systems.

  • Technical Analysis: Conduct deep-dive reviews of 3D models and engineering drawings to validate manufacturing feasibility and assembly sequences.

  • Risk & Cost Mitigation: Proactively identify technical risks and installation hurdles. You will be responsible for developing contingency plans and finding creative opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.

  • Layout Development: Create and iterate on conceptual system layouts using AutoCAD to optimize floor space and workflow efficiency.

Profile

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate combines technical "know-how" with the business acumen to meet tight deadlines.

  • Experience: Typically 5+ years in automotive assembly with specific expertise in General Assembly (GA) tooling and automation systems.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (B.S.M.E.) or equivalent hands-on industry experience.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong background in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or CATIA) and advanced Excel modeling.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of automated assembly, robotics, manipulators, and manufacturing workflows.

  • Business Acumen: Proven ability to translate highly technical engineering specifications into competitive estimates under strict deadlines.

  • Work Authorization: Ability to work for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
