The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and manages the operational and financial aspects of multiple projects to achieve program objectives. This position manages a cross-functional team that is responsible for completing program deliverables on time, within budget, and with quality results. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)
Essential Position Functions:
- Accountable for the ongoing management of multiple programs/projects with large and/or complex scope and deliverables. These programs/projects typically impact multiple processes, systems, products and/or functions.
- Works closely with customer(s) to understand strategic and business intent and ensures cross functional team understands this and how the project will address the business need.
- Partner with customer(s) and the Director to develop project scope of work documents and project plans.
- Identify key internal/external resources necessary for project completion and develop overall strategy for the execution of high value projects/program.
- Define project/program scope and objectives, guide activities of a project/program team including delegating tasks to team members, identifying resources, and establishing master timeline for deliverables.
- Identify the technical approach to be used on a given project and manages the system development process with the team members and Project Managers as required.
- Lead and manage the activities of project team to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project's objectives and motivate the project team to achieve them; create a project environment that enables peak performance by team members.
- Responsible for recruitment, training/development, and the performance management of the team.
- Manage the financial aspects of the project: budgeting, estimate to actual variance, etc.
- Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external customers to reassess and amend the scope of work requirement, budget, and timeline.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Focus project resources to deliver high quality work, while driving to committed dates, and managing risk.
- Conduct project/program meetings and is responsible for project/program tracking and analysis.
- Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team.
- Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of major problems.
- Ensure adherences to quality standards and reviews project/program deliverables.
- Track and report project progress on a weekly basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- 10+ years of industry related experience required.
- 7+ years' project management experience within the cable TV or related industry.
- Bachelor's degree required. A combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
- Experience with a major MSO or Telecom provider preferred.
- Hands on experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Clearly demonstrated ability to conceive, analyze, manage, and implement small to large scale projects.
- Working knowledge of relevant, project related software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Intermediate to Expert ability with Windows operating systems.
- Expert level ability with Microsoft office applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
