Project Engineer responsible for solid waste engineering support, including landfill permitting and design, environmental control systems, construction oversight, field work, reporting, and regulatory compliance. Job Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related engineering field

4 or more years of related work experience

3 or more years of consulting or industry experience

Engineer-in-Training certification

Valid driver's license

Driving record in good standing

Experience applying engineering and scientific principles to solid waste or related environmental assignments

Experience preparing engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications

Ability to perform field work in varied terrain and weather conditions

Experience with surveys, data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, field sampling, or testing

Experience with CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, site plans, facility diagrams, and permit applications

Preferred Skills Professional Engineer license

AutoCAD Civil 3D experience

Solid waste facility permitting and design experience

Municipal solid waste landfill experience

Landfill gas or biogas system experience

Transfer station experience

Sustainable materials management experience

Recycling, waste minimization, organics management, or composting experience

Air quality permitting and compliance experience

Experience with wastewater treatment, alternative energy, solar, biogas, greenhouse gas reporting, sustainability, climate change adaptation, PFAS, emerging contaminants, or carbon sequestration

Experience preparing proposals

Experience attending client meetings, conferences, or trade shows

Job Responsibilities Support solid waste engineering projects focused on landfill and landfill gas system permitting and design

Support solid waste facility permitting, design, construction, operation, monitoring, and compliance activities

Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications

Assist with environmental control system infrastructure permitting and design

Perform engineering analysis and feasibility studies

Conduct construction oversight and construction quality assurance activities

Complete field sampling, testing, inspections, surveys, and data gathering

Prepare CAD drawings, site plans, facility diagrams, and technical reports

Support air quality permitting and compliance projects

Apply engineering and scientific principles to solid waste assignments and related environmental fields

Make decisions on engineering or scientific problems, methods, and work coordination

Represent project teams at meetings and conferences

Support business development through proposal preparation, client meetings, and industry events

Provide technical guidance to junior staff

Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and obtain supervisory approval for proposed plans or projects
