Annual Salary Ranges Transportation Engineer Tech I (A16): $40,918- $61,130 Transportation Engineer Tech II (A18): $45,521- $71,055 This position is for (1) Transportation Engineer Tech I or II. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor. Essential Duties: Transportation Engineer Tech I Performs basic design work. Prepares field notes. Prepares quantity summaries, hydraulic and utility studies and right-of-way maps. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Transportation Engineer Tech II In addition to the duties listed above Performs intermediate design work. Reviews entire sets of plans for format, drafting and calculation errors and correlation of plans and specifications. Prepares roadway design, traffic control, lighting, signal, and building plans. Minimum Qualifications: Education : High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies. Experience : Transportation Engineer Tech I: No Experience Required Transportation Engineer Tech II: 2 years of experience in drafting, design, plan preparation. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related College education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis . Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Licenses and Certifications : Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
