Engineering Technician

Engineering technician Pay: $25.00-$29.00/hour Location: San Diego, CA Schedule: 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) Duration: 12-month contract Join a cutting-edge diagnostic company at the forefront of genetic and genomic sequencing technology. As an Engineering Technician, you will be embedded in the consumables Prototyping Services team at our San Diego headquarters, executing experiments, collecting data, and collaborating across project teams to investigate issues, develop countermeasures, and drive continuous improvement. Job responsibilities In this role, you will manage and support a variety of projects within the Prototyping Services department. Key responsibilities include: Owning moderate-complexity tasks with minimal supervision across multiple operations and technologies Executing experiments and collecting advanced data with strong hands-on skills Planning and executing multiple parallel activities as assigned by supervisor Supporting troubleshooting efforts across project teams Tracking lab supply inventory and maintaining lab equipment Collaborating effectively within a team environment using proficient collaboration tools Essential job duties and functions Communicating observations, technical findings, and progress to supervisor and immediate project team Establishing relationships with immediate project team and functional stakeholders Demonstrating good interpersonal skills and working effectively in a team environment Acknowledging instructions and communications, and seeking clarification when required Knowledge and skills Strong math and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration software Strong verbal and written documentation skills Experience with wafer-based fabrication or chemistry processes (preferred) Data mining or programming skills (a plus) Experience with process improvement activities (a plus) Experience developing consumables processes and products (a plus) Troubleshooting experience (a plus) Background in biotech, pharmaceutical, or semiconductor industries (desirable) Education and experience Minimum 1-2 years of related experience typically required Demonstrated ability to execute medium-complexity tasks and experiments with some supervision (a plus) Experience with prototyping in a high-tech industry (a plus) ...
