Continuous Improvement Engineer

The World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Engineer leads initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, quality, and cost.

Aligned with CertainTeed's World Class Manufacturing (WCM) pillar, this role analyzes current operations to identify waste and inefficiencies, then implements lean and Six Sigma -based solutions.

The position partners with cross-functional teams to redesign workflows, streamline operations, and eliminate bottlenecks. This role has responsibility for site sustainability activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze manufacturing processes using data to identify and implement improvements in cycle time, yield, and resource utilization.

Lead lean manufacturing initiatives, applying tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and visual management.

Lead site sustainability activities and tracks relevant KPI's.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent defects and inefficiencies.

Drive continuous improvement projects aligned with business objectives and timelines.

Establish, track, and report KPIs to measure improvement effectiveness.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.

Train and mentor employees in lean principles and problem-solving methodologies.

Identify and implement industry best practices and innovative solutions to enhance performance and competitiveness.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

8-10 years of project management / process engineering experience

Preferred:

Master's Degree in Engineering

8-10 years of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma experience

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $92,000 to $142,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $103,040 to $159,040. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
