You will use your Systems Engineering Knowledge and System Safety Expertise to analyze hardware and software, establish and maintain system safety requirements in support of mission results. You will support the Systems Engineering team throughout the lifecycle of the system. You will support detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies, and support the translation of customer requirements into hardware and software requirements. You will support Systems Engineering during System Integration and will support verification/validation of system requirements. As our System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will also include the following tasks:
Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR)
Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
Develop and/or update System Safety documents to support Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements
Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements
Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing
Development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation's.
This position is contingent on program award, expected in 3Q 2026.
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Knowledge of the development, documentation, and verification of system requirements.
Knowledge of System Safety principles to include hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation and/or associated deliverable documentation.
Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance, therefore U.S. Citizenship is required Secret security clearance (or above)
Experience using MIL-STD-882E and AFSPCMAN 91-710, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards
Experience defining safety requirements, influencing design to integrate safety requirements, and verifying safety requirements.
Software system safety experience
Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups
Experience with Satellite Programs
Familiarity with MBSE
Familiarity with DOORs
Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
