Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our Aftermarket Services by addressing complex system issues and providing top-notch solutions. We seek a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual to join our team. In this field-based position, you will troubleshoot automation systems for existing customers, identify problems, and collaborate with other contractors to resolve mechanical or electrical issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide solutions to increasingly complex system problems and lead others in problem resolution.
- Perform system maintenance on field controllers, servers, workstations, and field hardware.
- Communicate issues and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Review and provide feedback on equipment scheduling and modifications.
- Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate and document project status and details with customers.
- Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on system upgrades and services.
Essential Skills
- HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation - HVAC or Electrical
- Field Technician experience
- 2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field
- Capable of climbing ladders or using lift equipment over 8 feet
- Capable of lifting items up to 50lbs
- Valid and current Driver's License
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field
- Ability to download and troubleshoot complex HVAC or building automation system logic
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technologies
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Experience with various building automation systems
- Ability to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
Work Environment
The role involves working on-site, primarily in new constructions of schools, hospitals, data centers, and bio-pharm buildings, mainly in the Madison, WI market (within a 1-hour radius from downtown Madison). You will work with internal clients, including Engineering and Facilities Management at schools, hospitals, and university campus buildings. The position requires being on-call for night and weekend work for a total of 4 weeks per year. Outstanding training, a company laptop, mileage reimbursement, and paid travel expenses are provided. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $52.00/hr.
