Transmission Line Engineer (6-9 years) - Remote (Southeast)

Transmission Line Engineer, PE Location: Florida preferred (open to remote candidates for the right fit) Experience Level: 6-12+ years (targeting 9+ years) Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000 About the Role On behalf of my client, I am seeking a highly capable Transmission Line Engineer to join their growing team as our first full-time hire in this discipline. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role with significant ownership and influence over design standards, project execution, and future team growth. You will work alongside a group of highly experienced transmission engineers and a structural engineer who provide technical guidance and support, while independently leading detailed design and engineering decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is confident taking projects from concept through construction. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and engineering of transmission line projects, including routing, structure selection, and foundation design coordination Perform detailed analysis and calculations related to line design, including loading, sag & tension, and structure configuration Develop construction packages, drawings, and technical specifications Review and validate designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and clients Provide technical input during project planning, execution, and troubleshooting phases Take ownership of project deliverables and ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering (or related field) 6+ years of experience in transmission line engineering (9+ years preferred) Strong technical expertise in transmission line design and construction practices Ability to independently make engineering and design decisions Experience with industry software/tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar) Solid understanding of applicable codes and standards (NESC, ASCE, etc.) Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress What Sets You Apart Comfortable working in a lean, evolving team environment Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Ability to balance technical execution with practical field considerations Interest in mentoring or leading others as the team grows Career Growth This role offers a clear path to evolve into a lead position , either as a technical subject matter expert or team manager , as the transmission engineering function expands.
