About the Role:

As a CBRE HVAC Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and efficiency of the mechanical systems that power world-class facilities. Leveraging your expertise in commercial HVAC equipment and building systems, you will troubleshoot complex issues, optimize system performance, and drive operational excellence across a diverse portfolio of facilities.

This role is part of CBRE's Engineering and Technical Services team and is responsible for ensuring system reliability, energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and occupant comfort through preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous system improvement.

What Youll Do:

  • Lead and coordinate daily HVAC maintenance activities, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize commercial HVAC and mechanical systems, including AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, pumps, motors, and associated control systems.

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and system performance.

  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues and determine the most effective repair or modification solutions.

  • Inspect HVAC equipment and systems to ensure compliance with operational requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations.

  • Calibrate, maintain, and repair building automation, electric, and pneumatic control systems supporting heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.

  • Support equipment upgrades, system optimization projects, and commissioning activities to improve facility performance and reduce downtime.

  • Povide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with facility teams, vendors, and clients to resolve operational challenges and support critical business objectives.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

What Youll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.

  • EPA Universal Certification

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

The minimum salary for the HVAC Technician position is $48.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the position is $52.00 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidates skills, qualifications, and experience.
