Director of Engineering

HTI is recruiting for a Director of Engineering on behalf of a growing manufacturing organization in the Greenville area. What You Need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience within metal manufacturing
• Strong background in manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and process optimization
• Experience supporting welding, fabrication, machining, forming, and assembly operations
• Proven ability to lead technical and cross-functional teams
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (AS400 preferred)
• CAD proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar platforms
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred

What Your Role Will Look Like

• Lead Engineering, Tooling, and Quality functions across the organization
• Drive Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFA) initiatives
• Partner with Operations to improve manufacturing efficiency and production performance
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing and quality issues
• Oversee BOMs, routings, drawings, and ECN/ECR processes
• Champion Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead process improvements across welding, forming, machining, fabrication, and finishing operations
• Support capital improvement and operational excellence projects
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal leadership teams
• Develop engineering talent and build accountability across technical teams

• Travel: Approximately 25%
• Work Environment: Primarily onsite within a manufacturing facility
