Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on performing analysis on composite materials and structures to support the design team. The successful candidate will contribute to the testing and improvement of composite structures using advanced tools and software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis on composite materials and structures.
  • Provide input to the design team to enhance product development.
  • Conduct testing of composites using NASTRAN/FEMAP software or equivalent.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of composite structures.
  • Collaborate with team members and mentors to ensure project success.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a related role.
  • Expertise in analyzing composite materials and structures.
  • Experience with FEMAP/NX NASTRAN software.
  • Solid understanding of composite laminate theory and material allowables development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with manufacturing techniques including composites molding, machining, and 3D printing.
  • Familiarity with aircraft or unmanned aircraft (UAV, UAS, drone) is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Solidworks, NX, CATIA.
  • Experience with Hypersizer or other optimization packages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Matlab or Octave experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $58.00/hr.
