Collins Aerospace is on the lookout for a skilled professional to join our Flight Management department as a Product Owner for our military Fixed Wing programs. The person that fills this role will initially have ownership over the planning and execution of the E-2D program with future assignments to include platforms such as C-130, AWACS, HC-144, KC-135, P-3, and others. This position can be in Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Huntsville, Alabama. Remote would be considered for the right applicant.

As the product owner for Flight Management components on a large Fixed Wing program, you will collaborate closely with the platform teams and our customers to outline the project requirements and translate these requirements into a well-structured backlog of stories and lead a development team across the department to ensure successful execution. Additionally, you will lead bidding efforts for any modifications or extensions for E-2D.

Product Summary:

CAAS/Flight 2 Flight Management Solutions - Our signature products for Military Avionics and Helicopters as part of the Collins Integrated Avionics Systems, fielded on thousands of aircraft today, at this moment. Specific capabilities include FMS (Flight Management Systems), Performance Application, System Manager, Comm, Flight Director, and Flight Controls. Heres a couple links to more details:

    What You Will Do:

    • You will serve as the primary Flight Management liaison to internal and external customers on the E-2D program, ensuring our flight management development aligns with schedule and requirements.
    • You will lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive story backlog that outlines all necessary tasks for the full life cycle of development, making a complex project manageable and transparent.
    • You will oversee the day-to-day execution of Flight Management scope on the E-2D program.
    • You will create and manage Risks and Opportunities for your WBS items.
    • You will collaborate across various department agile teams to delegate tasks and track progress, ensuring all objectives are met on time and within budget.
    • You will drive the department's contributions to bids and proposals, securing our role on Military Fixed Wing aircraft for years to come.
    • A readiness to engage in occasional domestic travel as needed (less than 10%).

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
    • Experience with agile methodologies and their application in large-scale projects.
    • Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master.
    • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
    • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or JAMA.
    • Experience with writing and managing Risks & Opportunities.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    • Proven experience in project management within the aerospace or defense industry.
    • Demonstrated ability in leading cross-functional teams effectively.
    • Experience with Flight Management software applications.
    • Experience owning work performed at Global Engineering Centers including GETC-India and/or GETC-Puerto Rico.
    • Experience owning work performed by SOW subcontract engineers.
    • Strong foundation in communication skills and team collaboration.

    The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
