This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Associate Project Manager with the potential to work out of Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Exton, PA; or Tampa FL.

The successful candidate will have experience managing a variety of projects. We are seeking a candidate that is comfortable providing direction on repairs, modifications, light construction and technical direction on building/facilities projects.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in repair/alteration/modification/construction oversight of small to medium, multi-discipline projects from the time of assignment to completion, close-out, and turnover to the client. An individual project will last from a few days to a few weeks in most cases. The candidate must be proficient in handling multiple ongoing projects/assignments at the same time, ranging from client/ site communications, subcontractor cost solicitation and direction, scope of work review, project execution, deliverable collection and review, and pricing review.

Your Impact

  • Supporting the review of scopes of work requests from client, subcontractor bid reviews and analysis, and preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
  • Managing projects (range of project sizes) upon award of task orders.
  • Subcontractor coordination, including preparation of quotes and requisition requests.
  • Budget monitoring & schedule monitoring with adherence to cost and delivery contractual commitments.
  • Project monitoring and thorough documentation of project tasks and delivery, based on a weekly report of the overall project status.
  • Maintaining a weekly project / task log in a templated, professional format.
  • Record and document significant verbal, telephone, and media messaging.
  • Quality control, documentation and resolution of poor-quality work, repair, installation, or materials selection by general contractors, trade disciplines, and suppliers.
  • Change order control, including detailed knowledge of change and contractual requirements.
  • Job safety, monitoring, and compliance with WSP and USPS's safety, health and environmental (SH&E) requirements.
  • Interface with client contacts as required or defined for program.
  • Project deliverable package preparation and submittal.
  • Overnight travel is estimated to be to less than 10%.
  • Implementation of standards in compliance with USPS/WSP program requirements and seeks guidance and direction from Sr. program and/or project managers in the planning, execution, and delivery of similar project requirements.
  • Possess knowledge of repair, maintenance and/or construction processes.
  • Demonstrate project management skills in the management of integration/coordination of project elements, scope management, time management, cost management, quality assurance, managing changes in priorities and communication management in the generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information.
  • Ensure that projects are successfully completed on schedule, within the approved budget and in accordance with applicable quality standards and contract requirements.
  • Clear and precise record keeping meeting contract requirements and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance with all USPS/WSP applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements in the performance of the projects.
  • Types of buildings worked with include, but are not limited to post offices, mail processing facilities, and maintenance facilities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or relevant.
  • Experience working with outside 3rd party vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience and demonstrated success with repair services, maintenance, construction management or related disciplines.
  • Prior relevant project management experience, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to self-motivate with an entrepreneurial spirit. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, MS Project.
  • Experience working with direct and indirect resources, minimum of 3 years acting in a repair/maintenance, construction management capacity or supervisory role on light industrial or commercial projects or similar experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance. Negotiation and construction management experience/skills.
  • Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with technical disciplines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Beneficial skills also include ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, floor plans, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules as they relate to architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, & building structures.

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to work in varying environments (office, and field settings).
  • Must have ability/willingness to work occasional off hours (evenings and weekends) if project/client requires.
  • Ability to travel if required for work, with potential for overnight stays, or more and work flexible hours.
  • Must pass drug test, background check and company Motor Vehicle Record check.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $82,000 to $126,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $88,500 to $126,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
