Geotechnical Staff Engineer

Overview

Early-career opportunity for a Geotechnical / Civil Engineer to support site development and construction projects through field inspections, reporting, and technical analysis. This role offers a mix of office and fieldwork with strong mentorship and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports
• Perform field inspections and testing for fills, foundations, retaining walls, utilities, asphalt, and concrete
• Document field observations and assist with report preparation
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and senior engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• 2 years of geotechnical, site civil, or environmental experience (internship or construction experience preferred)
• EIT or ability to pursue PE licensure
• OSHA HAZWOPER, ACI, NICET, or related certifications a plus
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites

Technical Skills

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Word, and Excel
• Exposure to geotechnical software (GSLOPE, Rocscience, KeyWall) preferred

Work Environment

• Combination of office and fieldwork; outdoor work varies by project and weather conditions
• Ability to work on uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs; PPE required in the field

Compensation

• $55,000$80,000 base salary
