Project Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish and English) Center for Child & Family Policy | Sanford School of Public Policy

As the Project Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish and English), you will be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary research team at the Center for Child & Family Policy. In this role, you will support innovative, community-engaged research focused on improving the health, safety, and well-being of children and families across Durham County and beyond.

You will work closely with families, community-based partners, researchers, and students, bringing cultural humility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to equity to every aspect of your work.

This role supports two longitudinal evaluations of novel, evidence-informed interventions designed to strengthen early childhood systems and prevent child maltreatment.

What Youll Do

Family Connects ABC (75%)

Collaborate with Principal Investigators, statisticians, research staff, and community-based partners
Coordinate and train community-based personnel responsible for data collection
Schedule and conduct English- and Spanish-language interviews and assessments
Draft and maintain research protocols, codebooks, and study documentation
Manage and clean project data; identify data quality issues
Develop and manage project databases (e.g., REDCap)
Assess interviewer fidelity and reliability

Community Navigation (25%)

Support evaluation of a randomized controlled trial focused on community resource connections
Track recruitment, enrollment, and interview completion
Collaborate with partners in Durham and Guilford counties

Across Both Projects:
Supervise and train project staff and students (15%)
Maintain IRB protocols and ClinicalTrials.gov submissions (5%)
Perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

Education

Bachelors degree required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

Experience

At least one year of social science research experience
Experience with project coordination and/or supervision
Prior experience with research studies or randomized controlled trials preferred
Demonstrated ability to engage families and community stakeholders
Strong organizational skills
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
Ability to travel locally and work some nights and weekends

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
