Position Summary

The Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting Project Managers in all aspects of GFLs multi-disciplinary environmental solution service offerings. The role includes field work and supporting GFL Technicians in the hands-on operation of GFL environmental systems and service offerings. This position supports field based operations, not a single facility.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, cost estimating, proposal preparation, initiating projects, health and safety performance, monitoring and controlling project execution, documentation and communications.

The position is for the office located in Surrey BC, although periodical travel to projects would be expected.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Safety

  • Assist in the development of project health and safety plans and execution of safe work practices at project sites.

Project Planning, Scheduling and Procurement

  • Assist in the preparation of estimates of varying complexity.

  • Assist the Project Manager in bid review meetings with stakeholders and manage action items within required timelines.

Project Planning, Scheduling and Procurement

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and project execution activities.

  • Work with project teams to create and update project schedules.

Project Execution

  • Assist in project execution from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.

  • Support project operations with ability to perform hands-on environmental system operation and troubleshooting.

  • Take part in project kick-off meetings where possible, and follow up with regular site visits.

  • Work with the Superintendent and Technicians to ensure project tasks are completed on time and to applicable standards.

  • Work with other members of the project team.

  • Promptly respond to requests, questions or concerns from clients or colleagues and work collaboratively to resolve.

  • Be a strong team player who contributes proactively and provides leadership.

  • Demonstrates self-confidence and interpersonal flexibility, initiative, perseverance, and integrity.

  • Possess the ability to lead and manage small to large size project groups.

  • Effective communicator.

  • Ability to develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with GFL clients and within the organization.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work effectively under pressure, meet demanding deadlines and manage changing priorities.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License.

  • Previous experience on construction sites and/or industrial facilities is an asset.
