Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of all mechanical construction activities on a power plant project site. This role ensures that mechanical systems, equipment, and installations are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. The engineer acts as a technical liaison between construction teams, engineering groups, vendors, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and engineering documents to support field installation activities.
Provide technical guidance to construction crews and subcontractors during installation, testing, and commissioning.
Review and process RFIs (Requests for Information) to resolve design conflicts, clarify specifications, and support field decisionmaking.
Assist in developing and reviewing method statements, work packages, and installation procedures.
Prepare and track material requisitions, ensuring timely ordering and delivery of mechanical components, tools, and consumables.
Monitor daily mechanical construction activities to ensure alignment with project plans and safety standards.
Support installation of major equipment such as turbines, boilers/HRSGs, pumps, piping systems, heat exchangers, and balanceofplant components.
Ensure all mechanical work complies with engineering standards, codes (ASME, API, ISO), and project specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, schedulers, safety teams, and other engineering disciplines.
Attend daily/weekly construction coordination meetings and provide progress updates.
Interface with vendors and OEM representatives during installation and commissioning.

Skills and Requirements
27 years of field engineering experience in power generation, heavy industrial, or energy infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, piping, and construction methods.
Familiarity with RFI processes, material requisitioning, and construction documentation.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Proficiency with MS Office, project management tools, and engineering software (AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.). Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) project environments.
Knowledge of power plant technologies (CCGT, coal, biomass, nuclear, or renewables).
Bachelors degree in Engineering field
