Responsibilities
- Oversee electrical designs for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and control panels.
- Review customer drawings and specifications to develop designs that fully meet technical and functional requirements.
- Create one-line and three-line power distribution drawings and detailed electrical schematics for control systems.
- Size electrical components such as transformers, current transformers, fuses, cabling, bussing, and circuit breakers in accordance with UL 891 and NEC standards.
- Develop sequences of operation and testing plans for power distribution and control equipment.
- Support manufacturing teams by providing clear documentation and guidance to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Assist testing and quality teams to validate that equipment meets design intent, standards, and customer expectations.
- Support field service teams with technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues.
- Configure and program devices such as PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), protective relays, transfer switches, circuit breakers, and controllers.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to deliver optimized and cost-effective solutions.
- Support the development of custom engineering solutions for low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear and panel systems.
- Maintain compliance with applicable standards and codes, including UL, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA 70E, throughout the design process.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of relevant electrical design experience (preferred).
- 1+ years of control panel exposure.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical for creating and modifying electrical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical for 3D and 2D electrical design and panel layout.
- Experience with EPLAN or similar electrical design tools.
- Strong electrical engineering in panel design, electrical design, and control systems.
- Ability to design and interpret electrical schematics for control panels and power distribution systems.
- Working knowledge of UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI standards, and NEC/NFPA 70E requirements.
- Ability to size and specify electrical components for low and medium voltage applications.
- Capability to develop sequences of operation and test plans for power distribution and control equipment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
