Were looking for an experienced Roadway Engineer / Project Manager to join our Wisconsin transportation team. In this client-facing role, youll lead roadway, highway, interchange, and multimodal transportation projects for WisDOT, local municipalities, counties, and regional transportation clients. Youll manage multidisciplinary teams through preliminary design, final design, plan production, permitting coordination, and construction support while helping deliver practical, innovative, and lasting infrastructure solutions.

As a Roadway Engineer / Project Manager, you will:
Lead and manage roadway, highway, interchange, reconstruction, rehabilitation, and corridor improvement projects.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subconsultants, and internal project teams.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and deliverables.
Oversee preliminary and final roadway design, construction plans, specifications, estimates, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with traffic, drainage, structures, utilities, environmental, survey, geotechnical, and construction teams.
Apply WisDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and local agency design standards to transportation projects.
Support proposal development, client interviews, project pursuits, and business development activities.
Provide technical guidance, quality reviews, and mentorship to roadway engineers and design staff.
Collaborate with Jacobs Global Integrated Delivery teams and national technical specialists to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
The final candidate could be located in Madison, Milwaukee or Appleton, WI.

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin, or ability to obtain Wisconsin PE registration through comity
Experience with roadway reconstruction, urban and rural corridors, interchanges, roundabouts, safety improvements, and multimodal transportation projects.
Previous project management experience
Experience delivering transportation projects for WisDOT, counties, municipalities, or other public-sector transportation clients
Proficiency with Civil 3d, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or other transportation design software.
Strong understanding of roadway design, plan development, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, drainage coordination, utilities, and constructability
Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from concept through final design
Experience building and maintaining client relationships
Strong communication, technical writing, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to quality, schedule, and budget
Familiarity with WisDOT Facilities Development Manual, Standard Specifications, and design delivery processes.
Ideally, youll also have:
Experience supporting pursuits, proposals, scope development, fee estimates, and client presentations.
