About the Role
Engco Group is a Texas-based engineering and construction company looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team. A large portion of our work involves steel buildings, including pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), so strong experience with steel design and fabrication detailing is essential. You'll also work on other building types as projects come in, so versatility is a plus.
Familiarity with US codes (IBC, AISC, ACI) is preferred, but a strong willingness to learn and apply Texas-specific standards is essential.
This role works closely with our US team, so clear and consistent communication on progress, blockers, and timelines is just as important as your technical skills.
What You'll Do
Design steel buildings including columns, beams, plates, bracings, connections, and base plates
Produce fabrication-ready detailing for steel structures
Perform structural analysis and design for foundations, framing, and lateral systems
Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and specifications
Coordinate with architectural, civil, and MEP teams to resolve design conflicts
Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during fabrication and construction
Design structural systems for other building types including concrete, wood, and masonry as needed
Communicate regularly with the US team on project status, blockers, and next steps
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
2+ years of relevant experience in structural design
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Robot
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
Strong experience with steel design and fabrication detailing
Working knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, and IBC codes
Ability to perform load calculations and lateral analysis independently
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Reliable, self-directed, and responsive when working across time zones
Nice to Have
