Who We Need Sabel Systems is seeking a Cyber Engineer to secure and maintain a high-impact digital orchestration environment. In this role, you will be the technical engine behind the platform's security posture, focusing on continuous monitoring, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) operations, and incident response. You will work in tandem with an ISSO to ensure the platform meets rigorous DoD cybersecurity requirements and maintains its Authority to Operate (ATO) across multiple classification levels, including IL-6. What You'll Do Security Operations & Monitoring Continuous Monitoring: Execute the continuous monitoring posture for the enterprise digital environment to ensure persistent visibility into the system's security health. SIEM Management: Lead SIEM operations, including log analysis, alerting, and dashboarding to detect and mitigate potential threats in real-time. Incident Response: Support incident response activities, providing technical forensic analysis and remediation strategies to resolve security events. DevSecOps & Secure Infrastructure Automated Build-Outs: Manage secure build-outs from the master branch, ensuring that security controls are integrated into the automated deployment pipeline. Benchmark Reviews: Conduct regular security benchmark reviews on the centralized technical platform to ensure compliance with STIGs and DoD-mandated configurations. Data Security Models: Implement and maintain advanced data security models to protect sensitive information within the digital ecosystem. Compliance & ATO Support Accreditation Surges: Lead technical security activities during critical milestones, including Minimum Viable Product (MVP) releases and IL-6 re-accreditation cycles. RMF Support: Collaborate with the ISSO to provide technical evidence for the Risk Management Framework (RMF) package and System Security Plan (SSP) maintenance. Environment Integrity: Ensure the platform adheres to all Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements, facilitating frictionless but secure data transfers across environments. Qualifications Job Qualifications Required Qualifications Experience: 3-5 years of Cyber Engineering experience within the DoD or Federal contracting space. Technical Expertise: Strong background in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, or Sentinel) and automated configuration management. Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of NIST 800-53 controls and the RMF process. Security Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance required Certifications: Must meet DoD 8570/8140 requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, or CISSP). Preferred Qualifications Experience securing environments at Impact Level 6 (IL-6) or higher. Experience with Git-based workflows and "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) security.
