The Unified Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP ) Program intends to replace the current institutional legacy systems for human capital management, financials, and student information, improving the experience for students, faculty, and staff; streamlining core business processes; and unifying technology into a single, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in project management, technical implementations or related roles supporting or leading ERP implementations or other large-scale system transformations
  • CAPM / PMP preferred. CAPM or PMP required within 6 months of employment date.
  • 2+ years of experience working in higher education, public sector, or similarly complex organizational environments
  • 2 + years experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating cross-functional teams in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • 2+ years of experience with Project Management Tools for project tracking


Position Summary:
This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of a major ERP transformation. This position plays a critical role in the implementation and optimization of a large-scale ERP system, with a strong emphasis on project delivery. This position will provide support to the UGA Unified Team Project Director, Change Management Lead, Program Manager, and Project Facilitators for Finance, Human Resources, Service Delivery, and Change Management. Job responsibilities and percentage of time may evolve based on project needs. This position has a limited term appointment which is expected to end December 2028. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.

The IT Project Manager will lead and coordinate complex technical workstreams, including system integrations, data cleansing and conversion, historical data plans, reporting requirements, and related technical deliverables. By applying rigorous project management practices and a deep understanding of enterprise systems, this role ensures the successful planning, execution, and delivery of ERP -related technical initiatives. Working closely with IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, the position supports the comprehensive technical strategy of enterprise data and systems. This role is well suited for someone who thrives in a technically complex environment and is motivated by delivering reliable, scalable solutions that enable enterprise-wide operations and decision-making.

Project Management Apply formal project management principles and practices during the planning, implementation, monitoring and completion of projects

  • Create detailed project plans for completion of tasks that consider schedules, dependencies, institutional priorities, and resource limitations and conflicts
  • Coordinate efforts of project teams to facilitate cooperation and prevent delays
  • Develop and maintain standard project management documentation, such as project charters, project plans, timeline visuals, risk registers, issues logs, meeting agendas and summaries, and project status reports
  • Proactively oversee project execution by following up on the completion of tasks, reporting potential delays to management, and coordinating problem resolution efforts in the event of technical difficulties
  • Lead or attend regular meetings to update leadership, staff, clients, and the UGA community on the progress of projects
  • Utilize standard status reporting templates and tools such as scorecards, dashboards, and other visuals to represent project progress
  • Coordinate technical projects that require knowledge of application development, systems integration, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage application development and system integration projects, including phases such as software design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Utilize best practices for continuous improvement and industry standards software development methodologies such as DevOps.
  • Assist project teams in software evaluation, procurement, and vendor management processes to carry out technical projects.
  • Develop and maintain various systems analysis documentation to capture data flow, system architecture, specifications, and quality assurance information.
