Title : iSeries COBOL Engineer
Location : Remote
Contract C2C

Mandatory Skills:
iSeries development expertise
ILE COBOL
ILE CL
DB2 database experience
Knowledge of iSeries APIs
Data queues and user queues
Multithreading
Journaling
IBM iSeries file systems, including library-based systems
SQL experience is a plus
MQ Series experience is a plus
Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
5+ years of COBOL experience in an iSeries environment
Complete SDLC project knowledge
Ability to perform complex application programming on iSeries using ILE COBOL, ILE CL, and DB2
Ability to support system architecture and detailed solution design
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and other engineers/developers
Ability to lead a project/program from initiation through delivery and warranty
Ownership of code quality and testing
Experience participating in design and code reviews
Flexible, adaptable, and willing to multitask as priorities change
Please prioritize candidates who are true iSeries / IBM i COBOL developers, not primarily RPGLE or mainframe COBOL profiles. Strong candidates should have hands-on experience with COBOL in an AS400 / IBM i / iSeries environment.
