Construction Project Coordinator

Primary Function:

The Construction Project Coordinator supports Dacons project managers and field leadership by coordinating construction activities, managing project documentation, and facilitating communication across internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. This role ensures construction projects progress on schedule and within budget through proactive scheduling support, procurement coordination, compliance tracking, and administrative oversight. The position will be based in our Deer Park, Texas office located at 1300 Underwood Rd, Deer Park, TX 77536.

Duties & Responsibilities

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

Project Coordination & Scheduling

  • Assist in planning and scheduling construction activities in coordination with project managers and field leadership.

  • Coordinate timelines between field leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, and the Project Management team.

  • Monitor project progress and flag delays, conflicts, or issues to the appropriate stakeholders.

  • Help ensure project milestones and deadlines are met through proactive tracking and follow-up.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Assemble project documentation packages for field leadership, including drawings, schedules, Site-Specific Execution Plans (SEPs), and contracts.

  • Track and organize change orders; gather timesheets from the General Foreman and coordinate with Accounting to apply accurate costs.

  • Ensure project files are maintained in accordance with company standards and document control procedures.

  • Submit, track, and update 811 tickets prior to any digging or construction work.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a liaison between project managers, field leadership, and site teams to ensure alignment on project priorities and status.

  • Ensure clear and timely communication across all parties involved in project execution.

Procurement & Resource Coordination

  • Assist with sourcing materials and tracking deliveries to support construction schedules.

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.

Compliance & Safety Support

  • Obtain safety requirements from clients, including but not limited to drug screening, safety course requirements, badging, and specialty safety equipment.

  • Verify that Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Certificates of Insurance (COIs) are current and up to date.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized project files in both digital and physical formats.

  • Support contract administration and document control systems.

  • Assist the General Foreman with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.

  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Enable project managers and field leadership to focus on execution by proactively managing schedules, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

  • Reduce project risk by ensuring 811 tickets, safety requirements, MSAs, and COIs are tracked and current before work begins.

  • Improve cost accuracy by coordinating change order tracking, timesheet collection, and cost application with Accounting.

  • Support on-time material delivery and resource availability through effective vendor and supplier coordination.

  • Strengthen Dacons project documentation standards, ensuring consistent and accessible records across all active projects.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience of 4 or more years may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction coordination, project coordination, or a related support role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across project teams, field crews, and corporate departments.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.

  • Experience in electrical construction, substation, or utility infrastructure environments.

  • Knowledge of construction processes, terminology, and documentation standards.

  • Basic understanding of budgeting and cost tracking in a construction context.

  • Driving may be required for occasional site visits; valid drivers license preferred.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work.

  • Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations.

  • Occasional exposure to field or industrial environments during site visits.
