Position Overview

Triumph is actively recruiting a Special Process Manufacturing Engineer (ME) to oversee processing in heat treat, plating and chemical processing lines. The ME will develop operational sequence and manufacturing methods and provide technical support to production. The position also entails driving process improvements, ensuring components are manufacturable and offer technical expertise to the production shop floor. Manufacturing support by way of technical dispositions, process documentation and manufacturing controls are also required. Strong problem-solving skills are a must to eliminate waste and drive process efficiency throughout the manufacturing process. Qualified candidates must attain strong mechanical and manufacturing knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain procedures, checklists, and process steps for special processes that include heat treating and plating
Manage the design and procurement of fixtures, tools, and gaging
Improve quality performance by identifying and eliminating the variation in the process
Provide technical support regarding all safety and ergonomics issues within the special processes area
Drive cost reductions to support the business performance
Work closely with Team Leads, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet customer expectations
Perform root case analysis and corrective actions on component non-conforming material
Train employees on equipment and procedures
Review new engineering drawings for special process manufacturability
Develop special processes that meet cost and design requirements from Engineering
Lead the introduction of special processes on new shafts, gears, and valves into Operations
Able to perform internal audits. Prefer familiarity with NADCAP audits
Prefer pyrometry knowledge
Work closely with Team Leaders, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet customer expectations.
Initiate, evaluate, and implement process improvements using RCCA principles.
Understand manufacturing capacity and capabilities planning.
Ensure compliance and flow down with industry specifications and requirements
Drive for continuous improvement of processes

Qualifications

Engineering degree or minimum of 2-year associate degree in an engineering related field with 5 years of related experience.
Prefer 2+ years of manufacturing or process planning experience.
Capable of reading blueprints, specifications
Strong analytical skills, including data mining, formatting, and analysis.
Ability to create and manage manufacturing data, database reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
Prefer familiarity with aerospace quality systems and manufacturing requirements
Good writing ability, strong computer knowledge, and good interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Employment Type: Full-Time / Salaried Exempt

Salary Range: $75K - $112K
