Job Summary

The Supply Chain Planning Engineer performs analysis to identify and develop business improvement opportunities and evaluate the return on investment of those opportunities. In this role, you will help design and implement integrated supply chain solutions that improve cost, inventory utilization, planning effectiveness, and cross-functional business performance. You will work across supply chain, procurement, operations, product groups, and digital stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, standard work, and data-driven decision making.

Responsible for the design, standardization, and deployment of a common, demand driven S&OP process across machines, engines, and components. This role enables consistent, constraint based planning and decision-making by integrating demand signals, long-term forecasts, capacity drivers, and analytics within the enterprise S&OP framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, define, and implement integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements that strengthen cost, inventory, and business outcomes.

  • Build effective partnerships with business partners and internal functions to improve supply chain execution and alignment.

  • Investigate industry benchmarks, performance metrics, and best practices to develop more effective supply chains for suppliers and product sets.

  • Develop and analyze data to identify, prioritize, and act on business improvement opportunities across supply chain planning and inventory utilization.

  • Lead or support significant projects by estimating timelines, organizing workstreams, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and communicating progress to stakeholders.

  • Drive standard operating procedure improvements, monitor deviations, and support more efficient, compliant, and repeatable planning processes.

  • Collaborate across functions to break down silos, share relevant information, and improve cross-team integration in support of supply chain objectives.

  • Support planning initiatives related to demand, supply, capacity, suppliers, and operational workflows using structured analytics and process discipline.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify inconsistencies, isolate root causes, weigh risks and benefits, and recommend practical solutions.

  • Demonstrated project management capability, including planning, monitoring, stakeholder communication, risk management, and execution discipline.

  • Working knowledge of effectiveness measurement , including interpreting benchmarks, reporting results, and developing action plans for improvement.

  • Working knowledge of decision making and critical thinking to organize relevant data, clarify concerns, and assess alternatives.

  • Experience with cross-team integration and strong collaboration across supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, or business support teams.

  • Working knowledge of standard operating procedures , supplier management , and supply chain management principles in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Experience in one or more of the following: supply chain, manufacturing / operations, manufacturing engineering, inventory management, material requirements planning, demand management, logistics, sales and operations planning, or capacity planning.

  • Strong process improvement background, including Lean, Six Sigma, standard work, or structured business process improvement methods.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and comfort using data, metrics, and reporting to drive recommendations.

  • Experience with planning or enterprise systems such as SAP, SAP IBP, Kinaxis, o9, Oracle, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar planning and analytics tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across organizational levels and work effectively across backgrounds and cultures.

  • Comfort operating in a high-velocity environment with competing priorities, ambiguity, and organizational change.

Additional Details:

  • This position is based in Peoria, IL or Dallas, TX.

  • Onsite work is required five days per week.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

  • Visa sponsorship is not offered.

  • Travel is expected to be up to 40%.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
