Senior Project Engineer

Description:

- Supervise daily field operations for heavy civil infrastructure projects, coordinate with subcontractors and site superintendents to ensure work adheres to engineered plans and project schedules;

- Conduct detailed technical reviews of project submittals, civil drawings, and geotechnical reports. Utilize engineering analysis tools (e.g., LPile, RSPile, Bluebeam) to validate foundation designs and verify that field installation methods meet structural and soil -interaction requirements;

- Analyze and interpret subsurface site investigation data to identify potential geological risks or "differing site conditions". Manage technical responses to unforeseen underground obstructions to minimize project delays and cost overruns;

- Oversee specialized quality control testing for underground transmission line assets, including the management of thermal resistivity testing and soil characterization. Review laboratory results for thermal dry-out curves to ensure backfill materials meet strict utility performance standards; and

- Manage project documentation through construction management software (e.g., Procore or MS Project), including the tracking of RFIs, technical submittals, and progress reports. Serve as the primary technical liaison between the design engineering teams, utility owners, and field construction crews to resolve complex technical issues.

Domestic travel required 20% of the time to job sites in state of MA, NY and CT.

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related field or foreign degree equivalent, plus 3 years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering.

Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include the following:

- 3 years of experience with Thermal Soil Management and Resistivity Testing, including the coordination of field thermal probe testing and analysis of thermal dry-out curves;

- 3 years of experience with Engineering Analysis Tools (e.g., LPile, RSPile, Bluebeam) for the purpose of reviewing design submittals and validating field installation methods;

- 3 years of experience in Linear Infrastructure Construction Management, specifically overseeing the installation of underground utility systems and ductbank structures;

- 3 years of experience in Technical Document Review and Interpretation, specifically analyzing geotechnical reports, thermal resistivity data, and civil drawings to guide field execution and prevent construction delays;

- 2 years of experience with Construction Management Information Systems (e.g., Procore or MS Project) for tracking project milestones, RFIs, and technical submittals; and

- 2 years of experience in Subsurface Risk Mitigation, including the oversight of geotechnical field investigations, soil characterization, and the validation of site conditions against project design specifications.
