Project Engineer

AIS Commercial Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support our Project Management and Field Operations teams on commercial construction projects throughout Utah.

This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in commercial construction and project management. The Project Engineer will assist with project documentation, coordination, communication, scheduling, field verification, and construction management software administration.

AIS has been serving Utah since 1980 and has completed more than 3,000 commercial construction projects including office tenant improvements, healthcare facilities, retail spaces, restaurants, airport projects, and occupied renovations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project administration
• Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Prepare and distribute submittals
• Maintain project documentation and logs
• Assist with change order documentation and pricing requests
• Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Perform site visits to document progress and identify issues
• Assist with project scheduling and milestone tracking
• Manage construction documents within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Autodesk Build
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Assist with project closeout documentation and warranties
• Support superintendents and field personnel as needed

Qualifications:

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
• Commercial construction experience preferred but not required
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Autodesk Build, Procore, or similar construction management software preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
