Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, MD . This position will support the Land and Maritime Business Unit and is 100% onsite.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

  • Collaborates closely with Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Supplier Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, Factory Quality teams along with Program Managers, BU/OU Leadership and customers to ensure quality standards and enable program mission success.

  • Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, and Problem-Solving activities on program-specific, quality system and business system deficiencies.

  • Assess program performance and risks; develop mitigation plans for Quality risks and opportunities.

  • Review first article inspection packages for internal approval.

  • Support external audits and internal audits to assess conformance.

  • Review practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality and personnel.

  • Process material review board nonconformances and drive solutions to technical and process problems with cross-functional teams.

  • Identify and communicate customer requirements through understanding technical data packages, such as specifications and drawings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of Quality Engineering and/or Mission Assurance work experience; OR a Masters degree.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S.Government Secret Clearance.

  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with quality engineering principles, manufacturing operations, product inspection, test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, defect analysis, inspection methods, control of nonconforming material, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality.

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System.

  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action methods.

  • Experience with SAP and data analysis methods and tools.

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
