Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer / Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting the NATO RQ-4 program.
This candidate will be responsible for creating engineering drawings or modification kits and releasing them through Teamcenter, conducting/supporting self-audits as well as formal CM/QA audits, and peer reviews.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with other engineers to document and flow up/down design changes for diminishing manufacturing sales (DMS) replacements.
- Developing and releasing engineering documentation for detailed system design.
- Reporting status/progress to management/leadership.
- The candidate will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with teammates of varying levels and specialties. The candidate should have strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
Once in role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
This position can be filled at either the Electronics Engineer level OR Principal Electronics Engineer level, depending upon the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications level 2:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Masters degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.
- Active in-scope, DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience with hardware integration
Basic Qualifications for level 3:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Masters degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline.
- Active in-scope, DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience with hardware integration
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
- Active in-scope, DoD Secret clearance
- Experience with Teamcenter Enterprise
- Experience creating Engineering Drawings
- Experience in conducting system audits
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visio and VBA
- Experience with Agile tools and processes
Preferred Qualifications for level 3:
- Understanding of Ground System architecture including UAV Command and Control (C2), classified and unclassified networks, network storage devices, security appliances and government external interfaces.
- Knowledge of, or experience with, common ground approaches, implementations, components, standards, interfaces, constraints, and security needs.
- Demonstrated experience with Ground Segment design
- Experience managing hardware and Software related issues with a supplier-based interaction as part of a Government/DOD contract
- Familiarity with full hardware integration and Software Development Life Cycles
- Experience with government acquisition related to hardware and software development, and sustainment activities
- Familiarity with Prime and supplier proposal development including technical evaluations of supplier proposals.
Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
