CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Engineer III.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer III

Location: Charlotte, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Charlotte, NC, with travel to Hickory and Wilmington as needed.
Non-local candidates willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered.

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required, Master's degree preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical equipment, components, fixtures, and automation systems for manufacturing operations
• Support mechanical equipment installation, start-up, commissioning, qualification, and troubleshooting activities
• Create and update detailed mechanical designs and layouts using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor
• Verify equipment assembly and installation against engineering drawings and design intent
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and plant stakeholders to support successful project execution
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment performance and integration issues in a production environment
• Maintain equipment documentation, installation records, and design revisions
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and machine safety standards while promoting safe work practices

Required Qualifications

• Experience supporting mechanical equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, commissioning, debugging, and start-up activities
• Proficiency with CAD tools including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor
• Knowledge of machine guarding and industrial safety practices
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Familiarity with electrical, controls, civil, process, and facilities engineering concepts is preferred

Additional Information

• Travel is expected to support projects in the Wilmington and Hickory, NC areas
