The opportunity

At BPA, the Senior Fire Protection Enginee r role is an opportunity to build something meaningful and lasting.

Beyond designing high performance systems that protect lives and assets, you will play an active role in structuring, advancing, and elevating BPA’s fire protection expertise across the country. Reporting to Julien Rivard, P.Eng., Director – Fire Protection, you will be at the heart of large scale projects and strategic initiatives that will shape the future of the practice at BPA. This role will allow you to:

  • Play a direct role in the national development of the Fire Protection Centre of Expertise, influencing standards, methodologies, and technical direction.
  • Act as a technical leader and trusted reference, supporting and developing emerging talent.
  • Have a tangible impact on major technical decisions and relationships with strategic clients.
  • Work with autonomy and flexibility, with the option to be based in Montréal, Longueuil, Laval, or Québec City

Your daytoday impact

  • Lead teams of technicians and engineers and coordinate efforts among internal and external stakeholders to deliver fire protection projects across multiple sectors (institutional, office, commercial, cultural, and residential).
  • Provide technical supervision, coordination, review, and design for a wide range of fire protection projects.
  • Ensure client satisfaction throughout all project phases.
  • Conduct site surveys of existing installations.
  • Analyze, design, and adapt buildingrelated systems.
  • Develop new systems and improve existing ones.
  • Prepare and evaluate construction cost estimates.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Engineering.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Versatile, autonomous, and comfortable communicating.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Collaborative mindset and positive leadership to influence technical decisions and client relationships.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Strong technical analysis skills, with the ability to propose innovative solutions and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet schedules and fee budgets.
