Your Opportunity
Our Edmonton office has an opportunity for a Civil EIT to join our group and help to support and grow our Water business. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, report writing, field work, coordination of simple tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. In general, your role will involve assisting more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Support multi-disciplinary municipal civil projects, related to new build and infrastructure renewal.
- Undertake detailed studies and design tasks associated with water related projects including site civil, conveyance, and water resources projects.
- Perform project administration, including coordination of and preparing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, completing progress reports, and assisting in project management.
- Write reports and design briefs.
- Take responsibility for the quality of your written, technical and graphic work, and for completing work on time and on budget.
- Coordinate design drawing and specification development.
- Attend internal, client, and contactor meetings and document the meetings with minutes.
- Contract Administration as required for a wide variety of construction projects.
- Assist with site visits and field investigations as necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.

- A strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience working with municipalities will be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of various software for planning and design of facilities (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D/Pipe Networks, ArcView GIS, PCSWMM) will be considered an asset.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a background in Civil Engineering (preferably in the water and wastewater discipline), from an accredited university. With a minimum of two years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Registration with APEGA as a member in training, or eligible to register.
- Valid class 5 driving license is required.
- Related Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
