Quality Engineer

Precision Fusing and Sensors is actively hiring for a Quality Engineer in Middletown, CT. This role is responsible for conducting root cause analysis for issues with parts, performing audits, driving corrective actions, and rejecting/do a part stoppage if they arrive with defects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans to accomplish Quality department objectives that support schedule and meet contract objectives.
  • Work with and interpret blueprints, drawings and mil-specs in accordance with government and/or customer contract requirements.
  • Monitor status of NC’s and MRB activities to ensure milestones are accomplished.
  • Identify problems in production related to NC’s and assure a plan is developed in coordination with other operating departments for implementing corrective actions. Initiate corrective action, if appropriate.
  • Provide leadership on quality issues concerning both customers and internal to assure effective cause, corrective and preventive action; monitor for continued effectiveness.
  • Participate in program reviews and product cell meetings.
  • Support Quality Department FAI inspection activities.
  • Serve as liaison between MRB and management to ensure requirements, cost and schedule are maintained. May be required to develop and present quality metrics management.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of training programs, as needed.
  • Follow standard departmental and company procedures as outlined by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related Engineering field.
  • 0-3 years’ work experience in Quality and Aerospace.
  • Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9000/AS9100 regulations certification process preferred.
