JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in planning and managing mechanical engineering efforts for pipeline and facility projects. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, along with developing and implementing mechanical engineering solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead and oversee all mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development to execution and closeout
Develop engineering design specifications, calculations, and drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigation measures associated with decommissioning activities
Review and evaluate vendor proposals and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications
Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and third-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering issues, and facilitate project approvals
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID sessions to ensure effective communication and coordination among project teams
Monitor project progress and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship, ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
Professional Engineer with ability to become licensed in multiple states
Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering associated with pipelines and associated facilities
Minimum of 5 years of experience in brownfield/greenfield compressor station projects
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to effectively mentor less experienced engineers and designers
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions
Knowledge of industry standards associated with design of oil and gas pipelines and facilities
Subject expert knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195
Strong written skills with experience in preparing project execution plans, design basis memoranda, technical reports, and engineering specifications
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed to support engineering activities and project execution.
