About the role
Assist with all aspects of engineering projects.
- Full time, hours vary
- Minimal Travel may be required (overnight and day travel)
- Location: Norcross, Ga.
- Salary range is based on education and experience:
Responsibilities
Assist with creating bills of materials for project quoting and ordering purposes.
Assist with creating panel layout drawings, enclosure cutout drawings, and schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
Understanding and Applying UL508a and NFPA79 specifications.
Approximately 50% of work hours will be spent with engineering technicians in the Design & Build center learning the following:
Reading, understanding, and following layout drawings and schematics
How to fasten components to the panels
Proper wiring and labeling techniques
Mounting fixtures in the enclosures and wiring.
Assist with the power-up and quality assurance checkouts for each project.
Assist with packaging and preparing completed panels for shipment.
Maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Assist with general housekeeping duties to keep Design & Build Center clean.
Candidate requirements
High school graduate or GED.
Technical school associate's degree in electrical engineering technology or similar preferred
CAD related certificates or diplomas considered as well
Strong attention to detail.
Physically able to pick up 50-75lbs.
Able to work while standing for long periods
Must understand and comply with electrical safety procedures
Experience using common hand tools and power tools.
Familiarity with metric system measurements.
Willingness to learn shop techniques and procedures.
