POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an exceptional Systems Staff Engineer - z/OS with a proven track record in z/OS software lifecycle methodologies across diverse vendor solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of adaptability to evolving priorities and a commitment to delivering innovative, data-driven business solutions. This role will also involve taking a leadership position in overseeing and enhancing audit compliance, and proactive remediation of vulnerabilities. The Systems Staff Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement sophisticated custom solutions that not only meet but exceed business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expert Management: Maintain and manage a comprehensive suite of multi-vendor z/OS software products, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Advanced Utilization: Leverage a wide array of z/OS products and utilities to drive efficiency and innovation within the organization.
- Best Practice Development: Develop and deploy cutting-edge best practice solutions that align with strategic business objectives and drive measurable outcomes.
- Complex Problem Resolution: Provide expert support for intricate technical and operational challenges, employing advanced root cause analysis to drive effective problem resolution.
- Audit Compliance Leadership: Produce comprehensive control evidence for various audit inquiries, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Vendor Collaboration: Engage with vendors to strategically plan and implement z/OS system upgrades, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Change and Problem Management: Work effectively within Change and Problem Management frameworks to facilitate smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.
- Continuity and Recovery Planning: Lead the development and execution of robust continuity and recovery plans, ensuring organizational resilience.
- On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation, providing expert support as needed to maintain operational integrity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive Experience: 7+ years of experience in large-scale Mainframe computing environments, demonstrating a deep understanding of system architecture and operations.
- Lifecycle Management Expertise: 7+ years of experience with z/OS software lifecycle management, showcasing a history of successful project delivery and system enhancements.
- Automation Proficiency: 5+ years of experience with IBM Systems Automation and NetView deployment and customization, with a focus on optimizing operational efficiency.
- Security Product Expertise: 5+ years of experience in deploying and customizing Mainframe security products, with a strong emphasis on risk mitigation and compliance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Database Optimization: Strong understanding of database optimization and performance tuning, with a proven ability to enhance system efficiency.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and skill enhancement.
- Strategic Alignment: A strong strategic mindset with the ability to align IT initiatives with overarching business goals, driving significant value through technology.
- Disaster Recovery Mastery: Deep knowledge of disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing within IBM environments, with a focus on best practices and continuous improvement.
- Vendor Management Expertise: Strong experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and third-party software integration, ensuring optimal partnerships and resource utilization.

Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
