The Project Coordinator / Estimator utilizes blueprints, project specifications, and knowledge of the industry to analyze the project needs and compile accurate cost estimates to provide a well-defined scope and budget for quotation and order entry. Upon receipt of an order, the Project Coordinator / Estimator is responsible for coordinating the project throughout the organization to ensure it is delivered within scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards that meet the contractual obligations and the customer's expectation. This position provides support to sales team for all standard and engineered to order (ETO) projects and may be simultaneously responsible for multiple lower-level projects in the estimating and execution stages.
Essential Job Functions
- Work directly with sales team to fully understand the scope and details of each project and customer wants and needs.
- Review customer specifications for cost and schedule impact.
- Prepare preliminary vessel calculations to assist in accurately estimating each vessel.
- Provide estimated costs and projected timelines to manufacture vessels, large skids, and other products.
- Work directly with external vendors to obtain quotes as required for each project.
- Update customer data sheets or provide Mueller data sheet to be reviewed by sales and submitted to customer's proposal.
- Specify exceptions and clarifications to be reviewed by sales and submitted to customer's proposal.
- Regularly meet with sales, manufacturing, engineering, design, electrical, and other field experts as needed to accurately estimate specific project costs and timelines.
- Maintain routine direct contact with the customer throughout the contractual agreement until the order has been successfully completed. This includes tasks associated with accounts receivable ensuring timely payments are received, warranty claims, timely updates to the customer about their project, change order management, and schedule communication.
- Responsible for building and maintaining business relationships, which includes working with all levels and organizations of the company to maintain and provide status of key projects.
- Develop support solutions through partnership with a Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager that address any project concerns while meeting the customers' needs and aligning with the expectations of the industry associated with the work.
- Leverages knowledge of Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager in regards to Project Management methodology, skills, and tools.
- Identify risks and inefficiencies and works with Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager to troubleshoot and resolve.
- Responsible for estimating tasks involving change order costing, make/buy analysis, and comparison of alternative design and manufacturing decisions.
- Develop and implement plans to document project scope, schedule, tasks, risk management, and reports to communicate progress to the team.
- Work cross-functionally with others and assist to lead meetings to determine objectives, track progress, troubleshoot challenges, and execute deliverables assigned to project.
- Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Travel to customer locations including international travel could be up to 25% as required by the project.

- Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.

Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or Engineering is preferred. Other degree fields and related experience will be considered.
- A minimum of two years' experience in an engineered to order manufacturing environment is preferred.
Base Compensation Range: $53,537 - $80,306 annually
Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

Working Conditions
Professional office environment with some time spent in a manufacturing shop. Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets, etc.). Frequent presence on the manufacturing floor as well as field operations. Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures.
