Role

Dream.Org is seeking a Pittsburgh-based Project Manager to support our green workforce initiative in partnership with Frontline Gig. The Pittsburgh-based Project Manager will work under the direction of Dream.Org's Tech and Innovation Team, including the National Director and Manager of Career Pathways. This role will be responsible for coordinating a multi-stakeholder workforce program centered around the green economy, with a focus on connecting underserved and system-impacted communities to climate-resilient career pathways. The Project Manager will serve as the local implementation lead, managing partnerships, facilitating steering committee operations, and executing strategies aligned with Dream.Org's national Tech & Innovation priorities.

Note: This is a 2-Year grant-funded position with continued employment contingent on funding

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Project Execution: Oversee planning, implementation, and tracking of key milestones and deliverables across the initiative.

  • Manage Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain relationships with grassroots groups, labor unions, employers, local government, and community partners.

  • Develop Workforce Pipelines: Coordinate training and job placement strategies for underserved populations, aligned with employer needs.

  • Facilitate Steering Committee: Lead engagement and alignment of a local advisory group representing public and private sector leaders.

  • Track Impact & Ensure Compliance: Collect and report data, manage budgets and contracts, and support continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate Events & Collaborate Internally: Support convenings and align efforts across internal teams and the Frontline Gig project team.

Minimum Job Requirements

Experience:

  • 5+ years in project management, preferably in climate, construction, trades, or workforce development.
  • Proven track record of engaging underserved and system-impacted populations.
  • Success managing multi-sector collaborations across public, private, and nonprofit stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms (e.g., Asana) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to interpret and act on data to drive project outcomes.
  • Equity-centered mindset with a working knowledge of inclusive workforce strategies.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Available for in-person events and community site visits (~20% local travel).
  • Occasional weekend availability required for convenings or partner activations.
  • Commitment to Dream.Org's mission and values, with a solutions-oriented, collaborative approach.

Preferred Education / Skills / Experience:

  • Experience with local or regional workforce ecosystems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Environmental Studies).
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or related certification.
  • Experience supporting construction, trades, or outdoor-focused organizations.
  • Background in roles requiring direct engagement with employers and job placement strategies.

Employee Benefits

All full-time employees receive Medical, Dental & Vision coverage. Dream.Org pays 100% of premiums for employee, spouse and dependents. Part-time employees receive 50% coverage. After a 6 month waiting period, employees can contribute to our retirement plan. Currently, Dream.Org offers up to a 5% match. We also offer a flexible spending, pre-tax program for medical expenses, dependent care expenses, transit expenses and parking expenses. All full-time Dream.Org employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation time off and 12 days of sick time off over the first year of employment. Part-time employees accrue time off on a prorated basis. In addition to 10 paid holidays, Dream.Org also provides paid time off from December 24th through January 1st each year.
