Process Control Engineer Job Type: W2, Contract Schedule Location: Fully onsite, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320 Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday We are seeking a skilled Process Control Engineer to join our team in a fully onsite role. This position is responsible for developing and supporting automation systems including PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing environment. The engineer will lead troubleshooting efforts, support new product and technology introductions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Rockwell Automation (FactoryTalk & ControlLogix), experience with process design and validation, and a solid understanding of cGMP practices. Job Responsibilities Develop process control applications using PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems. Support projects enhancing process equipment/utilities/facilities and integrating new drug product manufacturing technologies. Apply industry standards for batch control systems, SDLC, 21 CFR Part 11, and GAMP. Create detailed specifications, engineering documents, SOPs, and system admin job plans; test automation-based equipment. Own and administer process control automation in a GMP-regulated setting; manage change control requests. Lead root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshoot control issues. Support new product/technology introductions via engineering assessments and automation configuration. Innovate solutions to complex problems using standard automation principles. Promote a safe work environment by adhering to EHS practices and regulations. Preferred Qualifications B.S./M.S. in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Biotech Engineering Strong background in automation design, installation, programming, and validation 5+ years with Rockwell Automation Factory Talk & ControlLogix PLC Proficient in SDS, URS, IQ, OQ, VSR documentation Knowledge of S88/S95; batch processing experience preferred Strong leadership, technical writing, and communication skills Flexible to support 24/7 operations, including after-hours Experience with automation strategies for NPI and new tech deployment Familiarity with systems such as: Lyophilizers, syringe/vial filling, BMS Device testing/inspection machines Clean utilities (WFI, clean steam, chemical dist., purification) Cleaning systems (autoclaves, depyro ovens, washers) Knowledge of BAS, eBR, PLC, OPC, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet Experience with cGMP, change control, CAPA, validation Self-motivated, organized, collaborative, and team-oriented Top 3 Must-Have Skills 5+ years with Rockwell Automation & Allen-Bradley PLCs (Factory Talk & ControlLogix) Experience in process design, commissioning, and change control in regulated environments Ability to troubleshoot and maintain automated equipment; proficient in P&IDs, SDS, HDS, URS, IQ, OQ, VP, VSR
