Job Description


Multiple positions available

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·         Review, analyze & interpret field & laboratory testing data (including gradations, proctors, compaction & compressive strength tests for soil, aggregates, RCC & Soil cement) in accord with QHSE Manual. 

·         Conduct subsurface investigations to support geotechnical design including site reconnaissance. 

·         Review/perform engineering design calculations for mix design, wall & foundation stability, & roads & drainage design using Mathcad. 

·         Prepare Geotechnical & drainage technical reports. 

·         Prepare cost estimates for proposals. 

·         Review engineering drawings from AutoCAD. 

·         Prepare construction specifications using specs intacts.

Improve quality & safety of construction projects using ASTM standards & UFGS Specifications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering or a related field. 
  • Must have at least 6 months of employment &/or graduate research experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of conducting/coordinating subsurface investigations & testing, use of gINT to reclassify soil samples from borings & creating draft logs, performing field activities such as staking, soil resistivity testing (EER) & pile load testing (PLT) in the field. 
  • Must be proficient with GIS Toolbox, Project Xchange, AutoCAD, Google Earth & GeoStudio.

 

Possible travel to project sites throughout US as needed (approx. 10-25% of time, up to 4 weeks at a time).  No fixed itinerary.
